The thoracic outlet syndrome is a compression of nerves and/or blood vessels between the collarbone and the rib cage.


  • Pain in the neck and shoulder
  • Tingling of the fingers
  • Weak grip


  • Extra cervical rib
  • An abnormal tight band between vertebra and rib
  • Injury or overuse in that area


  • Massage of the surrounding muscles
  • Physiotherapy to strengthen the shoulder muscles
  • Surgery if no improvement of symptoms
